Notes
The tasks of Division 73 in consumer health protection include, in particular, the safety and monitoring of food of animal origin, feed safety, the monitoring of veterinary medicinal products and animal welfare, especially before and during slaughter.
The tasks of Division 73 include
- consumer protection in the sense of monitoring the food hygiene of food of animal origin
- the protection of the public from risks to and damage to human health and from being deceived and misled in the marketing of foodstuffs and other products of animal origin
- carrying out ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections and thereby preventing and controlling transmissible animal diseases via food of animal origin and monitoring the disposal of carcasses and offal
- the protection of animals before and during slaughter
- monitoring the production of animal feed from animal by-products and the sampling of animal feed
- monitoring the movement of veterinary medicinal products
