Brief description
In the event of violations of the Animal Welfare Act, district administrative authorities must take measures and, if necessary, issue orders.Description
The competent district administrative authority may, in order to eliminate established violations or to prevent future violations of the Animal Welfare Act and taking into account the principle of proportionality, order that
- the owner implements the necessary measures to fulfill the requirements of § 2 TierSchG,
- animals are taken away from the owner and housed elsewhere at the owner's expense until the housing conditions improve,
- animals are sold,
- animals are killed at the owner's expense while avoiding pain,
- animals or animals of a certain species may no longer be kept or cared for,
the keeping or care of animals of a certain or any species is made dependent on obtaining a corresponding certificate of competence, - Animal testing must be discontinued.
