The primary school competition "Fit for school, fit for the future!" took place for the first time this year in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. A total of ten elementary school with 110 classes and 2527 pupils took part - an impressive start and a strong signal for more climate-friendly mobility in everyday life.

For three weeks, the children collected stickers for every sustainable journey to school - on foot, by bike or scooter or by bus and train. In total, around 25,000 climate-friendly journeys were made. The poster with the polar bear family made it clear how many small steps can add up to something big.

The winners of the first primary school competition have now been announced:

  • The Ferdinand Feldigl Primary School in Jachenau was the overall winner - as the best school in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and also number one among all participating schools in the MVV network districts.

  • The race for first place as the best class in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district was won by 1a from Eurasburg-Beuerberg elementary school.

The award ceremony will take place at the beginning of December in the Tölz district administration office. District Administrator Josef Niedermaier will not miss the opportunity to congratulate the proud winners in person.

The feedback from the schools shows: The motivation was high, the joy was great and the idea was well received. Teachers' reports are consistently positive: the children were enthusiastic about the project, they collected, glued and lovingly designed their own and many classes are already hoping to continue next year.

The competition is a joint project of the MVV network districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Freising, Miesbach and Starnberg and was initiated as part of the "Mobile Future Munich" (MZM) alliance. The aim is to get children interested in active, safe and climate-friendly mobility at an early age. At the same time, the competition promotes road safety, health and ensures less car traffic in front of schools.
