No trespassing in the Loisach-Kochelsee-Moore meadow breeding area until July 15
District of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. To protect rare and highly endangered bird species such as the curlew, whinchat, stonechat and lapwing, the annual ban on entering the Loisach-Kochelsee-Moore meadow breeding area will remain in force until July 15. For this period, the area may only be entered on selected paths and dogs must be kept on a lead. The paths are marked on the information boards on site. More information can be found on the Tölzer Land Tourismus website at www.dein-toelzer-land.de/die-loisach-kochelsee-moore.
The Loisach-Kochelsee bogs stretch along the Loisach from Kochelsee to Penzberg. With an area of around 4,000 square meters, they are among the largest contiguous wetlands in Germany. The area is characterized by large areas with only a few trees and shrubs. The Loisach-Kochelsee bogs therefore not only have an important function locally, but also for Central Europe as a breeding ground for rare and highly endangered bird species. The ground-breeding bird species need these open areas in particular. As the birds breed and raise their young unprotected in open meadows, the birds can easily be disturbed if people or dogs come too close to the nest. If the incubating birds are startled, this puts the offspring in serious danger. To protect the animals, it is therefore very important that the regulations are adhered to. The nature conservation guard monitors this on site.
The ordinance on "the restriction and regulation of access rights in the meadow breeding area Loisach-Kochelsee-Moore in the municipalities of Benediktbeuern, Bichl, Kochel am See and Schlehdorf" can be viewed on the homepage of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office at www.lra-toelz.de/de/buergerservice/veroeffentlichungen/abt-3/sg-35/verordnungen-naturschutzgebiete.
