Where the Isar becomes wild - a journey with the rangers through pine forest and riparian forest

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, the rangers invite you to an exciting and informative nature tour through the Isarauen nature reserve from the Schneeheide pine forest to the floodplain forest. The starting point at 11 a.m. is the Aujäger parking lot, from where you will cross the Marienbrücke bridge through the varied landscape along the Isar to the Isarspitz.

Along the way, you can discover the unique habitats and the fascinating development from sparse snow heath pine forest to alluvial forest. The rangers provide exciting insights into the special flora and fauna of this protected area and explain why this habitat is so valuable and worth protecting.

The guided tour is free of charge and is aimed at anyone interested in nature - whether locals or guests, families or individuals.

Tour dates: Saturday, 06.09.2025 (minimum number of participants: 8, max. 20 people)

Meeting point: 11.00 a.m., Where: Parking lot P2 Aujäger, Wolfratshausen

End around 15.00, where: Weidach sewage treatment plant or possibly back P2 

Path condition/length:

8 km of good hiking trails, partly paths, hardly any inclines, some trees are climbed over 

Prerequisite/ Bring along:

Sturdy shoes, clothing suitable for the weather, drink and snack
