Isar Valley, Rissbach Valley and Kanapee
Natural jewel upper Isar - species-rich hike with the nature conservation rangers

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, the nature conservation rangers invite you to a species-rich hike in the natural jewel of the upper Isar. The tour starts in Vorderriß, which can be easily reached with the Karwendelbus.
On three different paths in different directions, all of which impress with their biodiversity:
The first path of the tour takes the group to the fascinating area of the tamarisk and snare, one of the last pearls of Europe. The second trail leads into the Rißbach valley, a dry habitat that is nevertheless full of life and dynamism. The third path leads to a vantage point from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Isar and the Wetterstein mountains. A short section downhill and then up to the Kanapee, where the group can expect a breathtaking view of the Rißbach valley and the Karwendel mountains. Although these places are physically separate from each other, they are nevertheless inextricably linked. What makes the difference and what do the Isar, Rißbach and the mountains have to contend with in these beautiful places?
