Mental Health
Self-help cannot be prescribed, but it can be recommended. Attending a group stems from one’s own desire to share experiences with others.
Mental Health
Burnout, Boreout, Depression, Anxiety, and Obsessive Thoughts – Self-Help Miesbach
We in the group are people affected by burnout, boreout, depression, anxiety, and obsessive thoughts.
At the regular meetings, participants can share their experiences with one another. They meet people who truly understand them—not just pretend to—and who can empathize without needing many words. This is important to many people affected by this issue, and it’s best achieved in a self-help group. Often, new, deep friendships develop as a result, making life worth living again.

Women Who Have Had a C-Section
Citizens for Citizens: Wolfratshausen Neighborhood Assistance Association
A C-section doesn't just affect the body—it often leaves women feeling insecure, exhausted, or disappointed. Many women go through these feelings alone, even though they're so common.
In our support group, women find a safe space to talk openly about their experiences, feel understood, and find new strength. We help them become mindfully aware of their own bodies and scars, strengthen their inner resources, and develop a loving approach toward themselves.
Who is this for?
For women about 6–8 weeks after a C-section, as well as those who gave birth some time ago and are looking for support and a sense of community. The group is led by Sabrina Beysel, a psychological counselor, mindfulness coach, and a C-section mom herself.

Addiction
Alcohol
Alcoholics Anonymous Interest Group, Inc.
In all its dealings with the public, Alcoholics Anonymous has only one purpose: to help the alcoholic who is still suffering.
In a closed meeting, only those affected and anyone who wants to stop drinking attend. Anyone who has something to say, a question, or wants to share with the group is welcome to do so.
In these meetings, everyone speaks only for themselves and about themselves—their own feelings. Last names should not be mentioned, criticism should not be offered, and advice should not be given. In closed meetings, everyone is encouraged to develop the ability—through the openness and honest sharing of others—to gain self-awareness.
Students learn to take a self-critical look at their own weaknesses, mistakes, and behaviors, and ultimately to reveal them.
Some other AA member will have faced the same difficulties and can describe how he or she coped with them, and what he or she does differently now than in the past.
The realization that one is not alone in facing this problem, and the feeling of being understood, provide encouragement. The examples of others who have found a new start in life despite seemingly hopeless situations offer hope. Often, it is only during a discussion that an AA member comes to recognize the true extent of their own role in their difficulties.
In addition to alcoholics, family members, friends, relatives, and other interested individuals also attend open meetings. The meeting format generally does not differ from that of a closed meeting; however, the topics and content of the discussions are usually on a different level—due to the participation of non-alcoholics.
Together, we are MORE, and together, we are not alone. When it comes to personal issues, the support of a group is incredibly valuable. The others know what it’s like and can relate to and empathize with your situation.

In almost every country in the world, alcohol is the number one addictive substance, alongside nicotine.
The Blue Cross is a counseling and treatment center for people at risk of addiction and those suffering from addiction, as well as their families.
If…
- They turn to alcohol and medication to help them relax or cope with problems
- you notice that you are increasingly needing more alcohol or medication than you actually want
- You are asked about your behavior at work or in your personal life
- If you get the impression that someone close to you is drinking too much alcohol or taking too many medications
Then why not join the Blue Cross self-help group?

Al-Anon Family Groups Association, Inc.
Al-Anon Family Groups are a self-help community dedicated exclusively to family members and friends of alcoholics. They offer comfort and support to those affected.
Regular attendance at self-help groups helps change one's perspective and way of thinking about alcoholism as a family disease.
Loved ones come to realize that, as family members, partners, children, or friends, they are not to blame and cannot stop the alcoholic from drinking, no matter how hard they try to control the person’s alcohol consumption. They learn to take back control of their own neglected lives instead of continuing to focus on that of the alcoholic.
Self-help groups help participants realize that the alcoholic must bear the consequences of his or her actions, and that family members must stop taking on the consequences of his or her addictive behavior.
Regular attendance at the groups fosters personal responsibility and helps participants develop a sense of healthy boundaries. With this new mindset, the family member can once again steer their life in a positive direction.
