Vaccinations; information and implementation by health authorities
Brief description
As a rule, the recommended vaccinations are carried out by doctors in private practice. The health authorities provide information on recommended vaccinations and offer standard vaccinations as a secondary (subsidiary) measure to close vaccination gaps.
Description
The public health department provides information about recommended vaccinations. It answers questions about the benefits of a vaccination, the disease to be prevented, possible side effects, vaccination intervals, vaccination age and necessary booster vaccinations. In schools, the vaccination books for certain age groups are regularly checked by the health department and vaccination recommendations are given if necessary. Parents, schools and class teachers are informed in advance about these vaccination book reviews.
The public health department only carries out vaccinations to close vaccination gaps on a case-by-case basis, if necessary, as a secondary service to the doctors in private practice.
