Description
Infectious diseases are widespread in many popular vacation destinations, especially in warm climates. There is a risk of infection for travelers who go on vacation there without protection. Travelers can prevent many of these infectious diseases by getting vaccinated in good time. In some countries, certain vaccinations are also mandatory (e.g. against yellow fever). Vaccinations are carried out by doctors in private practice and the tropical institutes at universities. Low-threshold advice on travel medicine prophylaxis and prevention measures, including any necessary vaccinations, can be offered by health authorities. Further information on the scope of services can be obtained from the relevant health authority.
