Voluntary services are tasks that the local authority sets itself. It is free to decide whether and how to fulfill these tasks.
For example, certain subsidies, grants, reductions or benefits can be offered as voluntary services. These can then be applied for.
Examples:
- Funding: e.g. cultural funding, cargo bike funding, funding for the purchase of old houses, funding for the construction of a rainwater cistern
- Subsidy: e.g. for composters, reusable diapers, diaper bags, soundproof windows, energy consulting, projects with children and young people, repair and design of buildings, training costs for music lessons
- Reduction: e.g. for residual waste garbage cans
- Discount: e.g. for local public transport, a so-called "district pass"
Special information for - District of Bad Tölz WolfratshausenLocal public transport is a voluntary task of the administrative districts and independent municipalities within their own sphere of influence, but at the same time serves to provide services of general interest. In order to secure and improve existing local public transport, the responsible authority can draw up a local transport plan.

The district also offers various voluntary services in the area of climate protection. Climate protection work is based on the district's integrated climate protection concept, which the climate protection management team is tasked with implementing. In order to control and coordinate local public transport in the district, the public transport authority can draw up a local transport plan for the entire district. This was first adopted in 1996 and is still valid today.
- Energy transition Oberland
Energiewende Oberland is one of the largest community foundations for the energy transition in Germany. Its members are the four districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Miesbach and Weilheim-Schongau and numerous municipalities, organizations, companies and citizens of the Oberland region. Energiewende Oberland supports and advises on the goal of increasing energy efficiency and supplying the region entirely with renewable energies by 2035.
