Natural history tour to the Schemerfilz and the Jachen
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the two experts Birgit Weis, Alpine area supervisor, and Joachim Kaschek, former nature conservation specialist at the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district office, invite you to a natural history hike along the Jachen to the important "Schemerfilz" raised bog.
The varied tour leads past species-rich meadows and snow heath pine forests into one of the most important raised bogs on the edge of the Alps. On site, participants gain exciting insights into the diverse habitats of rare animal and plant species such as the raised bog yellow lily, sundew and dipper.

- End: around 14:00 at the meeting point
Route and requirements
The hike is easy, but extensive and around eight kilometers long. The route is mainly on gravel paths, with some sections on unpaved paths.
We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and bringing a snack, drinks, a cushion to sit on, sun protection and - if available - binoculars or identification literature.
Number of participants and registration
The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 20 people, the minimum number of participants is six.
