Isar floodplains near Geretsried - a natural treasure in winter
Guided winter hike with the nature conservation rangers and the area manager

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, as part of the #NaturschutzBeginntMitDir campaign, the nature conservation rangers and the area manager invite you to a guided winter hike through the Isar floodplains near Geretsried. Participants will learn exciting facts about the past and present importance of the Isar - for humans, animals and plants alike.
The dynamics of wild rivers have created a fascinating landscape that is home to a variety of unique habitats and provides a refuge for rare plants and animals.
Especially in winter, this landscape unfolds its very own magic: peace returns, as many animals have retreated, giving participants the opportunity to experience the beaver's habitat at length.
