County Administration Office Warns of Fraudulent Emails Sent in the Name of the Agency

Fake messages are urging companies and suppliers to submit invoice summaries—the County Administrative Office asks for increased vigilance

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District. The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office is warning about a phishing email currently in circulation that is being sent in the name of the agency.

By using the logo of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office and the correct mailing address, the email gives recipients the impression that it is an official message from the agency. However, the email contains incorrect phone and fax numbers. Furthermore, the named contact person, “Andreas Kessinger,” does not work at the District Office.

The message states that, following a thorough review by the accounting department, no outstanding invoices were found in the system at this time. Recipients are therefore asked to submit a list of all outstanding or recently issued invoices so that the matter can be processed further.

The District Office expressly states: This email did not originate from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office. It is a fraudulent phishing email. The person named is not acting on behalf of the District Office.

Citizens, and in particular companies, suppliers, and business partners, are urged not to respond to this message. Do not send any invoice summaries, other documents, personal data, or confidential information. Also, do not open any links or attachments contained in the message.

Anyone who has received such an email should treat it as a phishing attempt and delete it. The District Office asks all those affected to be extra vigilant and, if they have any doubts about the authenticity of a message, to contact the agency directly using the known official contact information.
