Immission control; notification of an emission-relevant change to a medium-sized combustion, gas turbine and internal combustion engine plant

If you wish to carry out an emission-relevant modification to a medium-sized combustion plant, gas turbine or combustion engine plant, you must notify the responsible immission control authority in advance.

The obligation to notify generally applies to all combustion plants with a rated thermal input of at least 1 MW and less than 50 MW, whether or not they require a permit.

In the case of aggregated combustion plants, you must notify the planned commissioning if the combined thermal input of the combustion plant is more than 1 MW and less than 50 MW.

The authority responsible for you will then enter the information you provide in a register of installations, which is publicly accessible.

You would like to carry out an emission-relevant modification to a medium-sized combustion, gas turbine or internal combustion engine system.

The emission-relevant modification of an installation must be reported immediately, but at the latest within one month.

Complete written or electronic notification

There are no costs.

None. The administrative service is a real act against which no legal remedy is possible.

• You submit your notification to the authority responsible for you in writing or electronically.
• The competent authority will examine your notification and request further documents if necessary.
• Once the notification and the complete documentation have been received, the competent authority will update the details of your installation in the installation register.

You are committing an administrative offense if you do not submit the notification, or do not submit it correctly, completely, in the prescribed manner or on time.

There is no deadline for processing.
