Immission control; notification of the commissioning of a low-frequency or direct current installation

If your system does not require any other official permits relating to immission control, you must notify the responsible authority of the commissioning. You have at least 2 weeks before commissioning to do this.

If you want to commission a low-frequency system with less than 110 kilovolts, you only have to submit the required documents if the competent authority requests you to do so.

• Your system crosses or lies
  • on a property in the area of a development plan or
  • within a built-up district or
  • on a plot of land with residential buildings in an outdoor area.

You must have submitted the notification to the competent authority at least two weeks before commissioning the system.

• Site plan

There are no costs.

• § Section 7 Twenty-sixth Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act (Ordinance on Electromagnetic Fields - 26th BImSchV)

None . As this is only a notification procedure, no legal action is possible on your part.

• You submit the notification with the site plan in writing by post or electronically by e-mail to the competent authority.
• The competent authority will receive and examine your notification.
• If further information is required, the authorities will contact you.

If you do not submit the notification, or do not submit it correctly, completely or on time, you are committing an administrative offense.

There is no statutory processing time.

You must have submitted the notification to the responsible authority no later than 2 weeks before commissioning the system. The notification will be processed as soon as it is received.
