Schools; school medical consultations
Brief description
Legal guardians and school management can request a school medical consultation from the public health department if problems are identified in pupils that could be health-related or could lead to health impairments.
Description
The health authorities provide parents with medical advice. If necessary, documents from the attending physician are requested. If necessary, further specialist medical measures or health promotion services are recommended. On request, the health authorities of the districts and independent cities also advise schools on questions of school readiness and age-appropriate development.

Procedure
School management, guidance teachers and parents can request a school medical consultation informally, but in writing. The reason for the school medical consultation must be clear from the request.
