Rental apartments for people with disabilities; application for funding for adaptation

Purpose

The Free State of Bavaria promotes the adaptation of existing rental housing to meet the needs of people with disabilities as part of the Bavarian Housing Program with a performance-free building loan of up to EUR 10,000.

Object

For structural measures in existing properties to adapt rented accommodation to the needs of people with disabilities (e.g. installation of a disabled bathroom or stair lift, construction of a ramp for wheelchair users), owners of rented accommodation can receive a performance-free building loan of up to EUR 10,000.

Beneficiary

The recipient of the grant is the owner, the holder of a hereditary building right, or the usufructuary of the dwelling for which the relevant construction work is necessary. The beneficiary is the person with a disability for whom the construction work is to be carried out.

Eligible costs

The starting point is the total cost of the measure. Eligible for funding are the additional costs incurred for structural modifications compared to a conventional design, which result from adapting existing or renovated living space to the needs of people with disabilities; the costs of any necessary repair work resulting from these modifications may also be covered by the grant.

Type and height

The funding is granted as a credit/loan.

For structural measures in existing buildings to adapt rented accommodation to the needs of people with disabilities, owners of rented accommodation can receive a performance-free building loan of up to EUR 10,000.

• Only households whose income does not exceed the income limits specified in Art. 11 BayWoFG can benefit from the subsidy.
• A disability must be proven in accordance with § 2 Para. 1 SGB IX.
• The construction project may not be started before the funding has been approved.

There is no legal entitlement to funding.

There are no fixed deadlines for this funding.

The procedure is a two-stage process:

1. The application must be submitted to the granting authority using the forms and documents provided for this purpose. In the case of a two-family house, the application must be submitted to your district office or district-free city and in the case of a multi-family house to the responsible government (exception: if the rental apartment is located in Augsburg, Munich or Nuremberg, the city is the approval office). Approval is granted by the approval office.
2. The Bayerische Landesbodenkreditanstalt is responsible for approving the loan and delivering the approval notice. Application for disbursement must be made to the approval office.
