Garden culture and landscape conservation; advice on the design and maintenance of gardens and outdoor facilities

The district advisory services for garden culture and landscape conservation promote garden culture through advice, lectures, instruction, seminars and educational trips (environmentally friendly garden design and maintenance, environmental protection in the garden and home, vegetables, flowers, fruit, etc.). Among other things, the aim is to create a nature-friendly and exciting living environment through the appropriate use of plants. Priority is given to maintaining healthy soil and water through proper fertilization and integrated plant protection in compliance with the Plant Protection Act.

Cooperation with all relevant organizations such as horticultural, settlers' and allotment garden associations, farmers' associations, housewives' associations and nature conservation associations serves to promote garden culture and landscape conservation. Competitions and events such as

• "Our village has a future" or
• the "Open Garden Day" was held.

The municipalities in the district receive technical support in matters relating to the landscape and green space plan as well as the design and maintenance of public green spaces.

  The award "Naturgarten - Bayern blüht" is a Bavaria-wide initiative of the Landesvereinigung Gartenbau Bayern e.V., the Bayerischer Landesverband für Gartenbau und Landespflege e.V. and the Verband der bayerischen Kreisfachberater.

• Fruit variety ark Benediktbeuern - Häusern

  The district of Bad Tölz - Wolfratshausen is one of the project sponsors of the biodiversity project "Apfel Birne Berge - Alte Obstsorten im oberbayerischen Alpenvorland", in which 270 apple and pear varieties threatened with extinction have been bred and replanted in a total of six fruit variety arks.
