Special information for - District of Bad Tölz WolfratshausenThe following people work in public relations for the district of Bad Tölz:
Nature conservation ranger
The nature conservation rangers (Isar rangers) of the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen monitor the regulations in accordance with the relevant landscape and nature conservation area ordinances and the ordinance on the restriction of public use on the Isar (boat ordinance). At the same time, they carry out educational work in the form of discussions with visitors or recreational users and organize environmental education tours in the area.
They help with species protection measures such as fencing off bird breeding areas, put up information signs, maintain paths and remove fire pits and garbage.
They also help to combat invasive, alien plant species (neophytes) and monitor visitor behaviour. The rangers' area of operation includes the protected areas around and along the Isar and its tributaries as well as the Sylvensteinsee and Walchensee lakes.
Area management for the Alpine visitor management project
Visitor guidance in the Alpine region is a project funded by the Bavarian Nature Conservation Fund and the district of Upper Bavaria.
The aim of visitor guidance is to protect local nature and its treasures. By raising awareness and providing guidance, visitors to the Alpine region should be able to experience and understand the mountains and move around in nature without causing damage. Another task is the implementation of the Natura 2000 objectives and measures set out in the Natura 2000 management plans.
Natura 2000 is a Europe-wide network of protected areas. In the district's Alpine region, this includes the Karwendel nature reserve and bird sanctuary with the Karwendel foothills, the upper Isar and wetlands, moors in the Jachenau and near Fleck and the Jachen with its tributaries.Cooperation with stakeholders from forestry, agriculture and nature conservation is also important in the project. For example, the amphibian fence at Walchensee is being supervised in a cooperation project with the Bavarian State Forestry and the Nature Conservation Association.
The film "AlmenREICH grenzenlos" was also produced in collaboration with the mountain farmers of the Karwendel and the Karwendel Nature Park in Austria.Nature conservation watch
Nature conservation wardens are volunteers from the lower nature conservation authorities who inform local citizens about the correct way to treat nature and monitor compliance with nature conservation laws. The nature conservation guards support the lower nature conservation authority and carry out educational work.
Nature conservation wardens have the task of imparting general knowledge about the interrelationships in nature through concrete education and information on site, as well as identifying, preventing and stopping violations of nature conservation law in the great outdoors.
The nature conservation watch acts as a link between citizens and the authorities.

The return of lynx, wolves and bears, especially wolves, poses challenges for livestock farmers, particularly in the case of extensive grazing. Preventive measures, especially wolf-repellent fencing, are intended to minimize conflicts. Since 2020, the Bavarian state government has been supporting livestock farmers in affected areas as part of the "Bavarian guideline for the promotion of investments in herd protection measures against wolf attacks" (FöRIHW). This is implemented by the agricultural administration.
