Wild river habitat

May 26, circular hike

District of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. This varied circular hike leads through an impressive river landscape at the confluence of the Isar and Rißbach rivers with pioneer plants on the gravel banks to the species-rich mixed mountain forest at higher altitudes. On narrow paths, we experience the pristine nature of the Karwendel region with spectacular views. The nature conservation rangers and area managers accompany the tour and report on their work. Along the way, we find the odd glittering stone that tells us its story of foreign origin from the Central Alps.

Tour dates: Tuesday, 26.05.2026

Meeting point: Vorderriß, Post restaurant

Start at 3 pm

End around 17:30 at the meeting point

Condition of the path:

Small paths along the Rißbach and Isar, hardly any ascents, approx. 2 to 3 km route

Prerequisites:

Good basic fitness level, sure-footedness, sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, drinks, snacks

Minimum number of participants: 6, maximum 20 people

Guide: Nature conservation ranger, area supervisor
