Orchid tour Walchensee by bike
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen/Jachenau district. We cycle along the idyllic shores of Lake Walchensee from Niedernach to Sachenbach and discover diverse habitats such as species-rich wet meadows, fens, orchid and beech forests. At selected stops, we take a look at the beautiful native orchids and learn more about these special plants and their survival strategies.
The nature conservation rangers and area managers accompany the tour and talk about their work. There is an opportunity to stop for refreshments in Sachenbach.
Tour dates: Saturday, 23.05.2026
Meeting point: toll station, municipality of Jachenau, Niedernach entrance
Start at 10 am
End around 1 p.m. at the kiosk in Sachenbach (refreshments available, self-pay)
Participants are responsible for their own return journey.
Condition of the path:
Good cycle paths and forest roads, asphalt roads with little traffic, short, moderate climbs, 10 km route
Prerequisites:
Good basic fitness, roadworthy bike (normal bike, e-bike), bike helmet, bike lock, sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather, drinks, snacks.
Minimum number of participants: 6, max. 17 people
Guide: Nature conservation ranger, area supervisor
