Triple violation of the rules in the landscape conservation area
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. Despite the current ban on boating on the Isar, all signs in the protected landscape area (LSG) state that overnight stays, campfires and boating are not permitted. However, two men didn't care much about this, although they said they had even seen the signs. They entered the Isar with their inflatable boats below the Sylvensteinsee lake and then spent the night on the banks of the Isar in the Isarauen nature reserve near Gaißach without permission, having apparently lit a campfire beforehand.
Apparently they had not expected the nature conservation rangers. One of them discovered them there in the morning and woke the two men up. Due to the extremely dry vegetation, their campfire had already spread to dry grass and bushes and had singed a T-shirt they had hung up. At the time of the incident, forest fire level 3 was in force, with level 4 to 5 forecast for the weekend. Gusty winds and dry conditions further increased the danger.
The two men were not only informed of the rules by the nature conservation ranger, they also had to provide their personal details for an administrative offense procedure. They now face fines of up to 250 euros for unauthorized overnight stays, up to 1,500 euros for lighting fires and up to 5,000 euros for violating the boat regulations.
