Dispose of garden waste in an environmentally friendly way

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. As temperatures rise, the clean-up work in gardens, fields and meadows or forests begins in many places. In principle, green waste can be left to rot on the plots of land where it accumulates. Alternatively, the waste can be chopped and composted to provide valuable and free fertilizer for the soil. If this is not possible, small quantities can be disposed of in the organic waste garbage can or larger quantities can be disposed of at the usual green waste collection points.

Dumping waste in the forest or in the countryside is not permitted. Burning green waste is also only permitted in rare exceptional cases. Strict requirements must be observed for this. This is because improper disposal of garden waste can result in a fine. Therefore, for the sake of the neighborhood, the environment and ultimately your own wallet, a few simple rules should be observed, including, for example, burning only outside built-up areas under supervision on working days between 8 am and 6 pm, and the embers must be extinguished when leaving the fireplace. In any case, it is advisable to register such a clearing fire with the district office and to avoid false alarms with the integrated control center (Tel.: 0881/92585100).
