Fact-Checking Myths: Recognizing Employment Opportunities for People with Severe Disabilities
Information Session for Employers and HR Managers on November 10 at the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District. “People with severe disabilities get sick more often,” “Special protection against termination makes hiring them too risky,” or “The effort involved is simply too great”—there are numerous prejudices surrounding the employment of people with severe disabilities. But what’s the reality? And what opportunities might companies be missing out on if they let supposed obstacles deter them?
The informational event will address these questions “Fact-Checking Myths: Employment of People with Severe Disabilities—Recognizing Opportunities, Utilizing Support” on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the small conference room of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office. It is aimed at employers and HR managers who would like to learn more about the employment of people with severe disabilities and reevaluate their existing assumptions.
In her presentation “Fact-Checking Myths,” Sabine Wechselberger, an inclusion consultant at the Unified Contact Points for Employers (EAA) in Upper Bavaria, Southeast Region, examines common assumptions and contrasts them with facts and the legal framework. Following this, Astrid Schlegel, Director of the EAA Upper Bavaria, Southeast Region, will discuss specific counseling, funding, and support services available to employers in her presentation “Support Services for Successful Employment.”
The event is designed to help dispel reservations, build confidence in taking action, and highlight the opportunities offered by an inclusive workplace. In addition to providing first-hand expert information, it offers an opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversation with the speakers.
Those interested are asked to register by November 4, 2026, at the latest, by emailing teilhabe@lra-toelz.de or calling 08041 505 674.
Media representatives are also cordially invited to this event.
