Preparing for a Crisis
New WhatsApp channel from the District Administration Office and a guide from the BBK
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District. The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Office is adding another communication channel to its crisis preparedness efforts: Effective immediately, the District Office’s new WhatsApp channel will provide regular updates on safety and preparedness in the event of crises and disasters. Currently, the channel can be subscribed to exclusively via the following link: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDT95EGk1FzNOXpF60C. The WhatsApp channel complements the distribution by municipalities of the guide “Preparedness for Crises and Disasters” published by the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK). Local governments organize the distribution to residents based on local conditions.
“Through the WhatsApp channel, the district administration will publish targeted information directly and conveniently on smartphones regarding crisis and disaster preparedness, as well as hazardous situations,” explains District Administrator Ludwig Schmid. The channel can be used without registration and without providing personal information.
The BBK’s guide, “Preparing for Crises and Disasters,” provides comprehensive information on appropriate measures for preparing for scenarios such as flooding, power outages, and other disasters, and also includes clear checklists to help you prepare as effectively as possible. The guide will be distributed over the next few months by cities and municipalities, which have developed their own procedures based on local conditions. In August, the first copies for Dietramszell, Bad Heilbrunn, and Wackersberg were delivered to the district administration office. A total of 25,000 copies have been ordered so far.
