Open Monument Day 2026

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, the Open Monument Day will take place again in Bavaria. The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district will once again be participating this year. A total of 9 monuments in the district will be open to visitors on that day.

Bad Tölz

Kalvarienberg Church, Kreuzkirche, and Eremitenchor
300th anniversary of consecration,
10:00 a.m. festive worship service, followed by a parish festival with refreshments and a children’s program,
6:00 p.m. closing prayer
Meeting place: in front of the Kalvarienberg Church
Guided tours: 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the Kalvarienberg Church with the Eremitenchor,

Eurasburg / Beuerberg

Beuerberg Monastery
Former Augustinian Canons' Collegiate Church of St. Peter and Paul
Meeting point: Monastery gate,
Guided tours: 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. with Ms. Brandstäter and Ms. Wagner
 

Jachenau

Staffelalm on the Rabenkopf

Hike takes about 2.5 hours from Jachenau, Pessenbach, or Kochel am See

Kochel am See

Walchensee Power Plant, Kochel Altjoch 21,
; open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; rides on the funicular to the Wasserschloss, tour of the machine hall, hands-on booths run by the Kochel Mountain Rescue Service, the Water Rescue Service, and the fire department, historic children’s carousel
Option to walk down via the Kesselbach Falls (sturdy shoes required)
Last ascent at 4:00 p.m.
