District Administrator since May 1, 2026: Ludwig Schmid
Ludwig Schmid has been District Administrator of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district since May 1, 2026. The 48-year-old is married and lives in Geretsried.
Before taking office, the baker and food technologist was one of two managing directors of the Schmid-Bäck' bread and pastry bakery in Geretsried.
His political career began in 2020, when he stood as a non-party candidate on the district council list of the Free Voters in the district, was elected to the district council and was a member of the school and building committee.
Ludwig Schmid succeeds Josef Niedermaier in office in 2026 after the latter stepped down after 18 years as district administrator.
Deputy District Administrator:
At the inaugural meeting of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Council on May 18, 2026, Mr. Thomas Holz was reelected as deputy district administrator and Mr. Klaus Koch was reelected as the other deputy district administrator.
