District Administrator

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier was born in Munich on October 14, 1963. He is married and has two children. After graduating from high school, completing an apprenticeship as a baker and passing his master craftsman's examination, he took over the family business in Bad Tölz and expanded it consistently and gradually.
From 1996 he was city councilor in Bad Tölz, from 1999 3rd mayor and from May 20, 2000 he held the office of 1st mayor of the city of Bad Tölz.
In the local elections on May 1, 2008, he stood as the Free Voters' candidate for the office of district administrator of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district and was elected to this office for the first time. Josef Niedermaier was confirmed in office in the 2014 and 2020 local elections.

- Head of the Innovation Ring of the Bavarian County Association.
- Chairman of the Oberland Region Planning Association (Region 17)
- Representative of the Landkreistag on the Administrative Board of the Association of Bavarian Savings Banks
- Member of the Municipal Advisory Board of Deutsche Telekom AG
