... valuable and worth a thank you. The Bavarian Volunteer Card is a gesture of gratitude for those who have been doing above-average voluntary work for years and have made a strong contribution to our society
Your civic engagement plays a key role in shaping the common good! We are very grateful for this and would like to return the favor with a small token of appreciation. Around 285,000 volunteer cards were in circulation in Bavaria in 2025.
With the Bavarian Volunteer Card, you can take advantage of a wide range of discounts from local acceptance partners.
The facilities of the Free State of Bavaria with its castles, museums and maritime shipping are available to you with the advantage card.
As the name suggests, the Bavarian Volunteer Card is valid throughout Bavaria. 93 districts are currently participating in the Bavarian Volunteer Card. The validity therefore extends beyond the district boundaries and you can also benefit from having the card when you are on vacation or on excursions. There are currently 136 acceptance partners in our district.
Blue or gold volunteer card
There are two different versions of the Bavarian Volunteer Card.
Blue volunteer card
Anyone who has volunteered for an association or organization for an average of 5 hours per week or the equivalent of 250 hours per year for at least two years can apply for the blue volunteer card. This is then valid for three years and can be extended if the volunteer work continues.
Volunteer Card Gold
People who can prove that they have been involved in voluntary work for at least 25 years, averaging 5 hours a week or 250 hours a year, can now also apply for the golden volunteer card, which is then valid indefinitely.
This project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Family and Integration.
Where can I use the volunteer card?
You can find the acceptance partners, i.e. facilities and companies that offer discounts to volunteers, via the "Ehrenamtskarte Bayern" app (please install on your smartphone). You can recognize them by the small volunteer card logo on the entrance door.

How do I become an acceptance partner?
If you would like to support volunteers with a discount, you can register as an acceptance partner in the directory. Your address will automatically be listed in the app as soon as you have signed the contract.
