District statistics; district data collection

District authorities may carry out statistics to perform their tasks within the scope of their responsibilities and powers if individual data or results cannot be made available by the Bavarian State Statistical Office or other public bodies or cannot be determined in any other way and their own statistical offices are established.

The district offices can collect statistical data about the district. The information on various characteristics (for example from the subject areas of population and employment, economy, education and social affairs) can be provided by the Bavarian State Office for Statistics, the municipalities, the chambers or other authorities.

Statistics on the performance of tasks can be ordered by statutes as well as by laws or government regulations.
