The registry office supervisor exercises professional supervision over the registry offices in the district or city.
Supervisory audits are carried out at regular intervals. The supervisory audit includes the local audit of the registry offices and in particular
- the organizational and personnel situation including the suitability of the registrars and the
- reviewing the work of the registrars.
The tasks of registry office supervision also include, for example:
- Examination of civil status registers
- Registration of subsequent certifications
- Pre-notarization of documents for use abroad
- Participation in the subsequent certification of civil status cases with foreign connections
- Participation in judicial correction proceedings
- Participation in reviews of the legal validity of foreign deeds and judgments
