Driving license; ordering measures in accordance with the driving fitness assessment system (points system)
Brief description
The driving aptitude register stores legally binding decisions on traffic violations that have been awarded points and certain driving license measures. When certain levels of points are reached, the driving license authority must take measures.
Description
The traffic offenses and misdemeanors entered in the driving aptitude register (FAER) at the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg are assessed with 1 to 3 points depending on their severity. In terms of content, the driving aptitude assessment system is intended to
- ensure equal treatment of road users who repeatedly violate traffic regulations,
- detect a driver's aptitude deficiencies as early as possible,
- provide assistance to the driver so that the person concerned recognizes and remedies their suitability deficits as early as possible in order to avoid reaching 8 points and thus the revocation of their driver's license.
Based on notifications from the Federal Motor Transport Authority about the entries in the FAER, the driving license authority must take certain measures:
1ststage:
Anyone who reaches 4 to 5 points will receive a warning and information about the driving aptitude assessment system. If a driving aptitude seminar is now attended voluntarily, 1 point can be reduced as a result. A corresponding reduction in points through voluntary participation in a driving aptitude seminar is only possible once every five years, and can also take place with a points score of 1 to 3. The certificate of attendance must be submitted to the driving license authority within two weeks of completing the seminar.
2ndstage:
If you have 6 to 7 points, you will receive a warning. A driving aptitude seminar can also be attended voluntarily at this stage, but without the possibility of reducing points.
3rd stage:
If you reach 8 points or more, your driving license will be revoked.Costs
