Vehicle license plates; applying for a green license plate

Green license plates are license plates with green lettering on a white background and are otherwise identical to the "normal" license plate.

The registration authorities only issue the green license plates if the main customs office has approved the tax exemption. If these are issued before a decision is made by the main customs office, this is done to save the applicant additional costs. The holder is obliged to make the change if his application is not granted.

Internet-based allocation of a green license plate is not yet possible.
