The Foster Child Specialist Service is a specialist service of the Office for Youth and Family Affairs, which is responsible for the placement, care and support of children in foster families who, for various reasons, are temporarily or permanently unable to live with their parents.

It is responsible for acquiring, qualifying and checking the suitability of new foster families. It supports, advises and accompanies the foster child, the foster carer and the parents of origin and coordinates the network of other stakeholders and support services. The welfare and special protection of the young person are the guiding principles. Foster children should therefore be offered a stable, safe and loving family environment and the foster parents should be given the best possible support. The specialist foster care service is constantly looking for new foster families in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and carries out the application and selection process. Specialist service for adoption

The specialist adoption service advises and supports mothers/parents who are considering relinquishing their child as well as adoption applicants during their review. It is responsible for arranging, preparing, accompanying and supporting all parties involved in the adoption process and beyond. Other areas of responsibility include advising all parties involved in stepchild/relative adoption, supporting and accompanying adoptees in their search for their origins and working with foreign placement agencies.
