Natural jewel Walchensee, orchids in forest and meadow - hike on the idyllic eastern shore with the nature conservation rangers and the area manager

District of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. On Sunday, June 22, 2025, a tour with the nature conservation rangers will take you along the idyllic eastern shore of Lake Walchensee from Niedernach to Sachenbach. Participants will learn interesting facts about geology, water management and fishing.
On the tour, the group explores the unique habitats with rare orchid beech forests, wet meadows and moors together with the rangers. Protected plant species are discovered with a magnifying glass and a trained eye. Participants will also learn exciting background information about Bavaria's smallest natural forest reserve, the island of Sassau. At the end of the tour, there is a refreshment stop in Sachenbach.
Tour dates: Sunday, 22.06.2025 (minimum number of participants: 8, maximum 20 people)
Meeting point: 10.00 a.m., Where: Barrier at the Waldschänke Niedernach
End around 13.00, Where: Kiosk Sachenbach
Trail condition/ length: approx. 5 km, hardly any incline, part of the trail on an unpaved path
Prerequisite/ Bring along:
Sure-footedness and sturdy ankle-high shoes, snack and drink, weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection
Magnifying glass and binoculars (if available)
