District office opens care support center

Extended counseling services for people in need of care and their relatives Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.

The care support center for the district of Bad Tölz Wolfratshausen is starting its work. From Monday, June 2, 2025, people in need of care, their relatives and interested parties can contact the care support center at the Bad Tölz district office with questions about care. It will be set up in several stages, with the full number of employees being reached from October.

"Ensuring the care of citizens in need of care in an increasingly ageing society is a challenging task. More than 80 percent of those in need of care are looked after by relatives. It is important to support the families concerned in what is often a very difficult situation," says District Administrator Josef Niedermaier.

By operating the care support center, the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen is strengthening the advice and care structure in the region for people in need of care and their relatives. It offers concrete help, for example, with questions regarding the determination of a care degree, with information on care services or with the search for local care and support services. "The care support point is intended to be a local guide and signpost for citizens through the complex systems of care, social and health services. The existing advisory structures of the care and health insurance companies, the specialist offices for caring relatives as well as the Senior Citizens Info and the Mobile Senior Citizens' Assistance in the district office are thus supplemented to form a well-rounded advisory service," as the head of the care support point, Christiane Bäumler, emphasizes.

Two thirds of the costs for the care support center are covered by the care and health insurance companies; the remaining third is shared equally by the district of Bad Tölz Wolfratshausen and the district of Upper Bavaria.

The declared aim of the care support point is to offer high-quality advice from a single source, to further network local support services and to make optimum use of existing resources. The care support center works neutrally and independently.

It is advisable to make an appointment in advance for a detailed personal consultation. However, those seeking advice can also come to the district office in person at any time during the care support center's opening hours, although they may have to wait. The Care Support Center can be contacted by telephone on 08041 505-123 or by email at PSP@lra-toelz.de. The office is located in the district administration office, Prof.-Max-Lange-Platz 1, 83646 Bad Tölz, barrier-free on the first floor in room 1.064 and is open to the public at the following times: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8am to 12pm and Monday from 3pm to 6pm. Outside of these times, people in need of care can also receive advice at home. Counseling is subject to data protection and confidentiality.

The services offered by the care support point are supplemented by the free on-site advice provided by the district of Upper Bavaria. This service includes general information about the district's social benefits, such as care assistance and integration assistance for people with disabilities, as well as the legal requirements for receiving them. Advice is also available on applications, application procedures, necessary documents and contact persons in the social administration of the district of Upper Bavaria. Since March 20, 2025, the open consultation hours have been held every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in person at the care support center, room 1.065. The consultation is also subject to data protection and confidentiality. It is advisable to make an appointment in advance, even for appointments outside of open consultation hours. The on-site counseling service of the district of Upper Bavaria can be reached by telephone on 089 2198-21070 or by e-mail at beratung-toel@bezirk-oberbayern.de
