National Warning Day on September 10
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District. The nationwide siren test will take place on Thursday, September 10, at 11 a.m. On this day, the federal government, the states, and participating municipalities will test various warning systems, such as sirens and warning apps.
In the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, there are sirens in the Geretsried area as well as in the municipalities of Benediktbeuern and Bichl that are capable of sounding this alarm. The municipality of Dietramszell is participating in the nationwide test alarm for the first time this year.
The population is also informed centrally by the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) via the warning app NINA as well as the other common warning apps and cell broadcast.
The test alarm is an important component in ensuring that the population is warned. On the one hand, the functionality of the sirens is tested. On the other hand, it is important that people recognize this one-minute, rising and falling wailing sound as a warning signal and know what to do. In the event of serious threats to public safety, such as natural hazards or pollutant leaks, the wailing sound is intended to prompt people to switch on their radios or call up messages from the NINA warning app.
