The various parts of the foster parent training course cover important topics relating to taking in a child. In the first step, participants learn about the legal and financial basis for a foster relationship. They will also learn about the changes that taking in a foster child could bring about in the family and questions such as what full-time or standby care means, what needs to be considered within a foster relationship and how to respond to difficulties.
The training is an essential foundation stone and necessary for foster parents to be deployed on site. The number of participants is limited.
Enquiries and registration at the specialist foster child service of the Office for Youth and Family, by telephone on 08041-505-459 or by e-mail to amtjugendfamilie@lra-toelz.de.
Pre-Christmas celebration for the district's foster families
All of the foster families who recently attended a pre-Christmas celebration at the specialist foster care service with their children have already completed this training. Katrin Trinkl, Head of Foster Children's Specialist Service, and Mirjam Majer, Head of the Office for Youth and Family, praised the great commitment of the foster families and thanked them warmly for their dedication.
In a cozy atmosphere, the 70 or so guests, young and old, were able to spend time together and chat with the staff from the specialist foster care service. Four girls provided musical accompaniment to the afternoon and created a festive atmosphere. The children enjoyed a craft activity and a fairytale surprise. The storyteller Daniela Suttner from Bad Tölz told a story about revealing secrets.
