Children set an example for climate-friendly mobility: Primary school competition starts in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

From September 29 to October 17, 2025, the primary school competition "Fit for school, fit for the future!" will take place for the first time in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. The aim of the competition is to get children in grades 1 to 4 interested in independent, safe and active mobility in a fun way. During the three-week campaign, pupils are encouraged to make their way to school as often as possible on foot, by scooter, by bike or by bus and train.
The competition is a voluntary offer from the district to elementary school. The response is impressive: ten schools with a total of 110 classes have registered - more than 2,500 children are taking part. Attractive prizes and special experiences await the most committed schools and classes in the district. All participating classes will also receive a certificate of recognition.
The competition is a joint project of the MVV network districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Dachau, Freising, Miesbach and Starnberg and was launched as part of the "Mobile Future Munich (MZM)" alliance. With this initiative, the schools and districts are jointly setting an example for more exercise, climate protection and independent mobility in children's everyday lives.
