Ride the bus for free on September 21: Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district invites you to a public transport taster day

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, all citizens and guests of in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen can test public transport for a day free of charge. The taster day takes place as part of the "European Mobility Week" and aims to show how convenient, environmentally friendly and flexible it is to travel by public transport.

All MVV regional, express and city buses can be used free of charge on September 21 - even beyond the district boundaries to the respective end stations. The offer is also valid in the districts of Starnberg and Fürstenfeldbruck.

"Many people first think of the bus as a way to get to work or school," says District Administrator Josef Niedermaier. We want to show this with the taster day: With public transport, you can also discover the Tölzer Land region in your free time in a very relaxed way - with friends or family, whether you're going to the mountains, to the lake or simply to a traditional beer garden."

Anyone looking for inspiration for excursions will find it in the MVV tours: the "Museum Tour" leads to regional cultural highlights, the "Monastery Tour" to spiritual places and the "Beer Garden Tour" is perfect for connoisseurs. Anyone planning a hike in the Karwendel can use the BergBus Eng (line 369) from Lenggries via Sylvensteinsee to Eng. This popular excursion connection can also be used free of charge along the entire route on September 21.

The European Mobility Week takes place annually from September 16 to 22 in numerous European cities and regions. It draws attention to climate-friendly alternatives to motorized private transport. With the public transport taster day, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen is setting an example for sustainable mobility in rural areas for the third time in a row.
