Life on the river - nature tour with the rangers on flora, fauna and river dynamics near Geretsried

District of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen / Geretsried. On Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10 a.m., an exciting voyage of discovery with the nature conservation rangers will start along the Isar. Starting from the parking lot at the ice rink in Geretsried, participants can explore the unique habitats in the Isar floodplain nature reserve, a fascinating place of constant change.
The tour focuses on the special animals and plants that have adapted to the dynamic river life. With a bit of luck, the group will observe rare species such as the sandpiper, the little ringed plover or traces of the beaver. The rangers also show how river dynamics and bed load shape the landscape and why these natural processes are so important for biodiversity and provide exciting insights into the ecological importance of the Isar floodplains.
