Mayors from the Schwaz district and the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Miesbach districts meet
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. The mayors of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Miesbach districts and the Schwaz district met for two days in the Zillertal valley to intensify cross-border cooperation. Former mayors also took part in this exchange meeting from June 25 to 26.
The aim of the two-day excursion was to promote encounters, exchanges and networking among political representatives from the Euregio SBM region.
The excursion program included a visit to the "Zillertaler Bier" brewery in Zell am Ziller with an exchange on local politics and information on water management using the example of the Zillergrund reservoir and the networking of energy generation in the Hinteres Zillertal by VERBUND, one of the largest hydropower producers in Europe. The cultural exchange was not neglected either, so a concert of the Bundesmusikkapelle Hippach was attended. On the second day, the participants took the opportunity to learn about the processing of milk and the sale of the resulting products in one of the largest private alpine dairies in Tyrol, the "Sennerei Zillertal".
Around 40 participants were present at this meeting, which was supported by the Euregio. Among the guests were District Governor Dr. Michael Brandl, Mayor Franz Hauser from the municipality of Schwendau, District Administrator Josef Niedermaier and mayoral spokesman Stefan Fadinger.
The project was funded by the Interreg Bavaria-Austria 2021-2027 program with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
