ISARwunder - ARTENreich - So much more than you think! Hike with the nature conservation rangers along the Isar

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district. On Saturday, June 28, 2025, a tour with the nature conservation rangers will take you downstream along the Isar, past bird sanctuaries and boulder fields into a unique orchid landscape.

The bus will take you to the power station at the Sylvenstein reservoir, from where the hike begins. What a sea of blossom colors, what spring joys in the animal world will the group experience and perhaps be able to observe more closely with a magnifying glass and spotting scope? We walk along the old course of the Isar river through snow heath and pine forests. What are pioneer plants, what exactly are indicator species and what (survival) strategies have some creatures developed in this area? The route continues along old fishing paths before the group reaches the end of the route in Hohenwiesen. The bus then takes you back to the train station in Lenggries. 

Tour dates: Saturday 28.06.2025 (minimum number of participants: 8, maximum 20 people)

Meeting point: 10.15 am, where: Lenggries train station (arrival BRB 10.12 am)

End around 15.30, where: Lenggries train station (BRB departure 15.47 hrs) 

Path condition/length:

Easy hike, medium distance, hiking trails on paths, gravel and gravel surfaces, tarred paths; 7 km distance, approx. 1.75 hours walking time, hardly any inclines 

Prerequisite/ Bring along:

Good basic fitness level, long hiking trousers and long-sleeved shirt (as we walk narrow paths through juniper forests), sturdy ankle-high shoes, clothing suitable for the weather, sun cream and headgear, drink and snack. You can optionally bring your own: Binoculars, magnifying glass, walking sticks, seat pad, swimwear, water shoes, towel
