Art prize, art promotion prize, cultural honorary letter
The Art Prize is awarded every two years in three categories: Art Promotion Prize, Art Prize and Honorary Cultural Award.
The art promotion prize is aimed at younger artists from the district who have not yet reached the age of 30 and who show clear signs of further positive development. The art prize is intended to honor artists who have already achieved something in their development and whose artistic work can achieve supra-regional significance. The cultural award honors the life's work of an artist.
The persons or groups of persons eligible for the prizes must have been born in the district, have attended a school in the district, have lived in the district or have done so for a longer period of time or have made elements of the district the focus of their work. Award winners can be active in the fields of visual arts (painters, graphic artists, sculptors, photographers), performing arts (actors, dancers, cabaret artists), music (instrumentalists, singers, choirs, conductors) and literature (writers, authors, poets).
