The award "Naturgarten - Bayern blüht" is a Bavaria-wide initiative of the Landesvereinigung Gartenbau Bayern e.V., the Bayerischer Landesverband für Gartenbau und Landespflege e.V. and the Verband der bayerischen Kreisfachberater.
The initiative is supported and supervised by the Bavarian Garden Academy.
In the district of Bad Tölz - Wolfratshausen, the coordination is carried out by the District Advisory Service for Horticulture and Landscape Conservation, in cooperation with the District Association for Horticulture and Landscape Conservation Bad Tölz - Wolfratshausen e.V..
Do you cultivate your garden in a natural way and want to show your commitment to nature and the environment to the outside world?
Then have your garden certified and set a visible sign with the "Naturgarten - Bayern blüht" badge.
Two judges will inspect your garden together with you and evaluate the specified criteria. These are divided into three areas:
The core criteria that must be met
- No use of chemical pesticides
- No synthetic chemical fertilizers
- No peat
- Overall impression of high ecological diversity
Natural garden elements
At least 7 smileys required, ☺ partially or ☺☺ fully fulfilled
- ☺ ☺ Single-flowering perennials
- ☺ ☺ Varied shrub hedge and woody plants
- ☺ ☺ Site-appropriate deciduous and fruit trees
- ☺ ☺ Diversity of habitats
- ☺ ☺ Extensive green space;
- ☺ ☺ Meadow or meadow elements
- ☺ ☺ Wildes Eck
- ☺ ☺ Allow weeds to grow
Cultivation & kitchen garden
At least 7 smileys required, ☺ partially or ☺ ☺ fully fulfilled
- ☺ ☺ Vegetable patch and herbs
- ☺ ☺ Compost production and use
- ☺ ☺ Natural soil care (mixed cultivation - crop rotation - green manure - mulching)
- ☺ ☺ Beneficial insect shelters
- ☺ ☺ Orchard and berry bushes
- ☺ ☺ Rainwater harvesting and economical irrigation
- ☺ ☺ Resource-conserving choice of materials
Registration, procedure and costs
Register with the District Advisory Service for Garden Culture and Landscape Conservation (see right-hand column for contact details). We will arrange an appointment with you to view the garden.
For successful certification, members of the horticultural association are charged a lump sum of €40.00. These are paid to the Kreisverband für Gartenbau und Landespflege Bad Tölz - Wolfratshausen e.V. for the statutory promotion of environmental protection.
For non-members of the horticultural association, there is a charge of €80.00. Half of the expense allowance goes to the district association and half to the Bavarian State Association for Horticulture and Landscape Conservation for the statutory promotion of horticulture and landscape conservation.
If the criteria are not met, you will not incur any costs.
By successfully receiving the award, you undertake to comply with the criteria of "Naturgarten - Bayern blüht" in the future. The certificate and plaque can be withdrawn at the discretion of the responsible inspectors if gross violations are found.
Certificate and plaque
All participants will be invited to a festive event at the district administration office in Bad Tölz in the fall, where the certificates and plaques will be presented and you will be honored for your commitment.
