Ambach recreation area

On the eastern shore of Lake Starnberg

The Ambach recreation area of the Verein zur Sicherstellung überörtlicher Erholungsgebiete in den Landkreisen um München e.V. was opened in 1973.

It is located in the Holzhausen district of the municipality of Münsing in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. It is part of the landscape conservation area "Ostufer Starnberger See bei Münsing". The area is 37 hectares in size.

The recreation area is maintained by the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. The Maschinenring Wolfratshausen u.U. and a security service are responsible for the supervision and care of the area and the parking lots. Members of the Wolfratshausen Water Rescue Service volunteer at the water rescue station at Schwaiblbach.

The district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen has issued bylaws for the use of the site.

Please note the following points in particular:

  1. Use of the recreation area is at your own risk.
  2. Visitors are obliged to avoid anything that endangers the peace, order, safety and cleanliness of the recreation area or offends common decency.
  3. The instructions of the supervisory staff must be followed.

Parking at the recreation area

Information about the parking areas:

  • The fee is charged all year round.
  • The fee is also payable for e-vehicles from the first hour.
  • 01.April - 31.October for motor vehicles and motorcycles
    Up to 2 hours € 2.
    Up to 6 hours € 6.
    From 6 hours (day) € 8.
  • November 1 - March 31 flat rate € 2
  • Drivers with an official disabled person's pass with the license plates aG and Bl are exempt from the fee.
  • Parking tickets are not transferable.
  • Overnight stays in the parking areas are prohibited.
  • The parking of vehicles outside the parking spaces is prohibited.
