... young and old create an environment worth living in through innovative or traditional voluntary work. In Bavaria alone, 3.8 million people get involved for and with each other.
Volunteers work voluntarily and unpaid in a spirit of solidarity in a wide variety of areas such as leisure, sport, social interaction and much more.
Various volunteer cards
Anyone who has volunteered for an association or organization for an average of 5 hours per week or the equivalent of 250 hours per year for at least two years can apply for the blue volunteer card. This is then valid for three years and can be extended if the volunteer work continues.
People who can prove that they have been involved in voluntary work for at least 25 years, averaging 5 hours a week or 250 hours a year, can now also apply for the golden volunteer card, which is then valid indefinitely.
Previously, this was only reserved for people who held the Prime Minister's Medal of Honour or firefighters and emergency services personnel in rescue services and other civil protection units who had received a length of service award in accordance with the Fire Service and Relief Organizations Decoration of Honour Act (FwHOEzG).
NEW is that the volunteer card is now also available digitally. You can use the "Ehrenamtskarte Bayern" app to both apply for the card and use the ID function. Do you already have the volunteer card and only need the digital version? Then contact the volunteer office.
Clubs can apply for the volunteer card for their members collectively.

Where can I use the volunteer card?
You can find the acceptance partners, i.e. facilities and companies that offer discounts to volunteers, via the "Ehrenamtskarte Bayern" app (please install on your smartphone). You can recognize them by the small volunteer card logo on the entrance door.

How do I become an acceptance partner?
If you would like to support volunteers with a discount, you can register as an acceptance partner in the directory. Your address will automatically be listed in the app as soon as you have signed the contract.
