  • Lake Bibi

EU bathing area west bank - bathing beach

The groundwater lake, Bibisee, was created between 1969 and 1978 by gravel extraction and is located in the municipality of Königsdorf, in the district of Wiesen directly on the B 11. The Bibisee got its name from the nickname of the owner, Cornelius Kutschke. The lake has a total water surface area of around 16 hectares and a maximum depth of 8.6 m at its deepest point. The Bibisee is an important bathing lake for the towns of Königsdorf and Geretsried, where many people come on hot summer days to cool off in the cool water and enjoy outdoor leisure activities.

West bank bathing area - EU bathing area

The monitoring of the bathing water quality at the Westufer bathing area by the public health department has not revealed any complaints in the last 30 years. Lake Bibi is fenced in and the sunbathing lawn around the lake is approx. 20 - 30 meters wide. On the western shore there is a water slide, a paddling pool with a depth of 0 - 20 cm and a sandpit. The bathing area is equipped with showers and toilets and is supervised by the water rescue service. There are plenty of parking spaces right by the lake. There is a terrace restaurant on the beach. The lake and bathing facilities are privately owned and are maintained and operated by the owner, Cornelius Kutschke.
